Delhi is one those cities of India which is surrounded by such buildings and monuments which really need to be conserve carefully. Taking this in the mind DDA, Delhi Development Authoriy has instituted the Urban Heritage Awards. The purpose of this award is to persuade Delhites to understand, protect, and feel proud for their rich historic traditions and distinctive buildings of Delhi. This award is a step forward by the Government to make sure that our coming generation can see these magnificent buildings and monuments in the right and proper conditions and take pride to be an Indian.
This award recognize and honour individuals or institutions which have conserved old buildings of their time, which helped in beautification of the city.The decision to select the person or institute for this award is taken by a jury comprising of well know citizens of Delhi, Administrators, Town Planners, and Conservationists.
