Government Vs Private Jobs and Today's Youth

The debate to get job in government sector is good or private sector is very old. One of the element that attracted the general youth towards government jobs was the facility of pension. This is one of the reason that still after getting tired from not getting a good job in private sector , they try to get a government job even in the lower grade , with a hope that they will get pension , even if they are not alive, their spouse would get the pension benefit. However, now things has changed, the pension scheme is not like erstwhile scheme. Infact in many jobs the pension scheme is just like any private jobs of good company. One thing is sure, in Government jobs still there is sure promotion after a certain period , even the employee performs or not, while in private sector such smooth path of promotion is a rare scene. All the private companies are not having the same scale for the same job profile, while in Government jobs the salary is a bit different in Central and State , else there is hardly any difference in salary band on the state level. Government jobs are still more secure in comparison to private jobs.
        Though gradually scenes are changing. We come across many job notifications published by Government, which are most of the time on contractual basis either it is for engineer or medical or clerical staffs. So, now youth will have to understand that they will have to develop skill sets to survive in this world of cut-throat competition. Youth are getting in trapped of middle man to get a clerk job in railway and other organisation , just because they think that once they pay , after that life is settled. But the way things are changing in every sector and sphere of life, they will have to be ready to face the reality .
