In our Indian Television now-a-days, the stories of the serials are trying to show that how our cultural values are above on everything, ignoring all the other facts of life.
One of such serial is “Saathiya-Saath Nibhana” on Star Plus. This serial is about two sister who are cousin, Gopi and Rashi who are married in the same family. Gopi is uneducated, innocent , expert in household work and obedient, whereas Rashi is smart educated girl , but zero in household work and quite cunning who exploit Gopi at every occasion . Further is the story, Rashi is able to have the love of her husband but Gopi fails in the same as her husband Aham hates her , because she is uneducated. However, Aham mother who selected Gopi for her son loves her and hate Rashi. She knows that Rashi is exploiting Gopi , so she always tries to train Gopi about the practicality of life. Still Rashi gets success in her plans, which she runs in the guidelines of her mother, who is having shrewd behaviour.
In the meantime story of Aham's Sister Kinjal starts , who is in love with a boy Umang. However, she is scared to say it to her dominating mother. When her mother arranges her marriage, she tells lie to the family that she is pregnant. At this point, Rashi's mother who hates Kingar's Mother Kokila, finds opportunity to take revenge on her by giving the proposal to Kokila through Gopi of marrying Pregnant Kingal to Dhawal her nephew, who is innocent like Gopi and have control on Kokila through Kingal, who if married to Dhawal , she would be her daughter-in-law. Knowing this, Kingal reveals that she is not pregnant; it was just a excuse to avoid the marriage, which her mother had fixed. This revelation does not move Kokila and she still wants the marriage to take place. Seeing this, on the day of marriage Kingal runs from home.

The story of the serial is running at very slow pace, actors are good , still the male characters have not much to do in the serial. Even the female leads are doing the repetitive tasks in the serial , which some times is quite boring. Hope to see changes in the serial in the coming course of time, which may bring fresh air in the mood of this serial.
