Railway Minister Mamta Banarjee has presented the Railway Budget 2011 today in the Parliament. This Budget is designed from the point of view to attract the "Aam Aadmi" . List of some important announcement of this Railway Budget is given below:
- E-Ticket get cheaper by Rs. 10 for AC trains and for Non-AC it has been reduced to Rs.5
- The concept of Super AC has been introduced
- Smart Card scheme would start to buy Railway Ticket
- There is proposal of starting 56 New trains
- 9 Duronto Trains, 3 Shatabdi Trains and 13 New Passanger Trains would start soon
- Rs.57,630 Crore has been proposed for annual programs
- There is no fare hike
- Senior citizen who are females for them Mamta Banarjee has reduced the age to 58 years
- Concession if fares for PH passengers in Shatabdi Trains.
- Railway will build home under the Sukhi Grih Scheme.
- Railway has come up with exiting offer for those states, where there is less "Rail Roko" sort of procession.
- About 16 Thousand Ex Military Service Men would get jobs in Railway.
- Railway will give special facility to those Railway sportsperson who perform well on national and international level.
